Dexter Sutton, Coach
I have a passion for training and fitness. I started professionally training for fitness in 2005. Before becoming a professional trainer, I was a professional boxer.
During my years’ training as a boxer, I discovered the benefits of cross-training within a boxing-focused workout. Not only does boxing training hit all major muscle groups, but it can also improve your cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility simultaneously.
A boxer’s training is also designed to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass in an efficient way. Basically, I found that the training I was doing could help me reach multiple fitness goals at once in a way that is highly stimulating and even fun.
When I gave up boxing professionally, I decided that I needed to share what I knew about full-body cross-training with other people in order to help them reach their fitness goals. That’s why I became a personal trainer.
I received my certification from multiple institutions and studied the best ways to incorporate the benefits of boxing training into anyone’s life and workout routine.
I am still involved with boxing as I am the coach of an amateur boxing team. I am also a family man. My wife, Cheryl, and I have four children—three sons and one daughter. I enjoy using my role as a coach and as a father to strengthen my ability to help my personal training clients reach their maximum fitness potential.
I would like to encourage everyone—no matter what age, weight, or fitness background—to strive for ultimate physical fitness. Let’s stay around as long as we can for our families and friends. Let’s treat our bodies right so we can enjoy life to the fullest. Let’s work together for the satisfaction of reaching, and maybe even exceeding, our fitness goals.
